Being a bride can be stressful, due to all of the decisions and preparation involved in the process of planning a wedding. When I was a little girl I often dreamed of what my wedding would be like… Never did I think I would end up being the “Anti-Bride”. There is so much pressure when planning a wedding with trying to make everyone happy, along with the feeling of being judged on my own decisions, it is completely overwhelming. So I thought to myself, “How can I just relax?” and establish a guideline for myself to follow.
First of all, I turned a lot of my stressful mind filled nights into gym sessions. Working out relieves so much stress, and also makes you feel 100% better about yourself!! While getting into the habit of working out, I changed my eating habits. Of course everyone loves the quick and easy fast greasy food; I traded the greasy food for fruit and switched pizza for baked chicken. Developing healthier eating habits and setting a workout schedule soothes the soul, and as quoted on Legally Blonde “exercising gives you endorphins, endorphins make you happy”.
Next up, Make time for yourself!! Sometimes it is best to just light a candle and take a two hour bubble bath while listening to calm relaxing music. Taking a bath is extremely healthy for your body, and it is a great way to calm your mind. Plus, who doesn’t love a long relaxing bubble bath?!?! That is most definitely a woman’s favorite go-to! Everyone told me they noticed such a positive change in me after I started making more time for myself. I was a totally different person!!
The last thing to remember is to stay positive! There is no reason to sweat the small stuff. The big day will go by SO fast that the little things that seem so stressful now wont even matter. It will not be the end of the world if your cake doesn’t look like the one you showed the baker because, at the end of the day, The only thing that matters Is that I get to spend the rest of my life with my best friend!
